    Availability:  Open.  Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings

    Status:  Exempt-level manager

     

    Primary Responsibility

    The WaterColor Inn Lodging Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of long term strategic goals as well as overseeing the day to day operations for Housekeeping and Front Office departments at the WaterColor Inn and PRC. The Lodging Manager will uphold all SJCR standards/company initiatives and lead training initiatives to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction. Additionally responsibilities will include: maintaining proper quality assurance programs, appropriate coach and counsel sessions; Operating within any departmental budget constraints; Assists Dir. of lodging with revenue strategies needing to be implemented or executed.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of all hotel features/services, activities, and events. Responsible for ensuring all positions are knowledgeable all the same.
    • Work with Director of Lodging, Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance team to establish unique amenities enhancing the guest experience and ensure proper operational procedures exist.
    • Fielding guest complaints while maintaining professional dialogue with guests and finding resolutions to satisfaction.
    • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
    • Assist staff with job functions for optimum service to guests. Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with staff to ensure guest satisfaction and resolution management.
    • Complete accurate timekeeping/payroll responsibilities while adjusting to budgetary constraints based on business levels.
    • Schedule Front Office and Housekeeping staff for the property to ensure appropriate service levels.
    • Responsible for Strategic planning and execution focus on profitability, guest enhancements, employee development and company organization.
    • Focus on Staff development and associate engagement through various teambuilding activities and incentive programs.
    • Participate and assign staff to Training and Development courses offered through the company.
    • Assist Director of Lodging with Budgetary planning/forecasting as well as labor management.
    • Conduct interviews with department heads and hire according to workforce planning. Take into consideration staffing concerns for upcoming year workforce planning.
    • Collaborate with the clubs division of St. Joe Club and Resort on any resort guest’s access initiatives.
    • Ensure guest room product and design remains consistent and streamlined.
    • Complete the coding of invoices for vendors for their services.
    • Report on WaterColor Inn Profit and Loss statement addressing any variance explanations and working towards operating efficiencies.
    • Oversee Night Audit Operations and procedures
    • Handle any minor maintenance needs that arise for guest rooms and commons areas.
    • Collaborate with marketing and revenue management on any promotional campaigns for the property.
    • Coordinate and Execute the proper training with department managers for WateColor Inn Staff
    • Assist guests with reports of lost/stolen articles, following hotel policy.
    • Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
    • Assist with training of the required job functions with criterion expected and department orientation with new hires.
    • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.
    • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Engineering. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
    • Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with on-coming staff.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies/service procedures/standards. Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of the day.
    • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
    • Be familiar with all hotels services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquires accurately.
    • Resolve guest complaints and concerns to ensure guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
    • Enforce all property opening and closing duties.
    • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures
    • Extend appreciation to guest and invite them to return.

    Qualifications

    • Previous management experience in the hospitality industry required
    • Must exhibit good judgment while performing under pressure.
    • Must be dedicated to our goal of providing superior guest experiences.
    • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and general computer usage.
