Position: Lodging Intern
General Location: St. Joe Club & Resorts properties (WaterColor Inn & Resort, The Pearl at Rosemary Beach)
Reports to: Assigned Internship Mentor
Length of internship: 12-13 weeks (depending upon program internship requirements)
Pay Rate: $11.50/hr (if not in a tipped position)
Average number of hours/wk: 37-40 hours
Fall (August/September-November/December) - 2 spots
2018 Housing Available: If you choose to elect housing, it is coordinated through Premier Housing Solutions. The price is $135/week and is paid through payroll deduction. Housing is in the Panama City Beach area and will be mostly be at an apartment complex. All costs included internet, electricity, and water. Parking is not an issue at the apartment complex. Based on the students selecting the housing, it may be co-ed within the apartment. Under no circumstances will a bedroom be co-ed. Rooms are shared with one other student in most cases. The average is 3 persons sharing a bathroom. Housing furniture includes single bed with frame, living room furniture, dining table/chairs, and basic kitchen appliances and items.

Amenities include the Beach Club at WaterSound®; three 18-hole championship golf courses—Shark’s Tooth, Camp Creek® and SouthWood; one six-hole executive golf course—Origins; two tennis facilities; and a fitness center. Numerous privileges including dining, recreational activities and social events are also offered. In addition to the membership club, St. Joe Club & Resorts owns and operates four-star Forbes rated resort, The WaterColor Inn in WaterColor, Florida; manages The Pearl in Rosemary Beach, Florida.
Standards of Service: St. Joe Club & Resorts expects all associates to demonstrate professionalism on and off the job. Due to the number of VIP guests that utilize the club and resort properties, associates are not allowed to discuss their interactions or take pictures with these guests for personal or use on social media. The level of service expected is that of a five-star resort where at any time the associate is in uniform, they conduct themselves as if they were on the job. Under no circumstances should an associate behave in a negative or unprofessional manner while wearing any logoed item indicating a representation of St. Joe Club & Resorts.
Housing: If an intern is staying in housing coordinated through St. Joe Club & Resorts, the rented housing must be kept in a clean and neat fashion. Inspections can be conducted by St. Joe Club & Resort staff at any time without notice. Under no circumstances should damages to the property go unreported to property manager. Damages to the property will result in losing the deposit. Housing is not a single-resident and the intern may cohabitate with up to six other interns (depending on apartment bedrooms). This includes roommates in the same room; however shared rooms will be same sex pairings. Interns must be cognizant of all religious beliefs of others within the same residents. Residents of the St. Joe Club & Resorts housing will be expected to behave in a professional manner at all times. Gatherings of people outside of those who are approved to be in the residence will not be allowed.
Training: While completing an internship at St. Joe Club & Resorts, if there is any additional internal training being conducted, the Intern will be provided the opportunity to attend. We feel it is important for the Interns to be included in as many aspects of the operations as possible and have interactions with as many departments as possible. Through the training opportunities, the intern will be able to gain additional perspective regarding the company direction and expectations.
Appearance Standards: All employees of St. Joe Club & Resorts present a professional, neat appearance at all times. Company issued uniforms must be neat, cleaned and pressed if necessary. Makeup worn during shift must be neutral and discreet. Females are permitted to wear earrings for one piercing. Males are not permitted to wear any piercings. Piercings in locations other than the ear must be removed during shift hours. Tattoos should not be visible to guests during interactions by being covered with a sleeve or neutral covered bandage. Fingernails polish must be clear with no decorations. For positions that prepare foods, food regulations prevent wearing any polish on fingernails.
