    Wage Rate:  $8.00/hr + tips
    Position Status:  Full Time
    Position Type:  Year Round
    Availability:  Afternoon/Evenings.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

    **Must have a valid Driver's License**

    The Bellperson transport guests luggage to/from guest rooms, escorts guests to rooms and informs guests of all hotel services and features. Responsible for attending to immediate needs of each guest upon arrival and follow through attention throughout stay. Thorough knowledge of all hotel services and amenities. Deliver Forbes Standards of service consistently and in a timely fashion.

    Responsibilities

     

    1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
    2. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
    3. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
    4. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
    5. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
    6. Meet with Supervisor to review business status and follow up actions.
    7. Access all functions of computer system in accordance with departmental specifications.
    8. Set up work station with necessary supplies; maintain cleanliness throughout shift.
    9. Legibly complete requisition for additional supplies/materials and submit to the Front Desk Supervisor.
    10. Maintain updated resource materials on all vendors and information to accommodate guest requests.
    11. Review designated in-house guest list and be familiar with guests' names and room locations.
    12. Answer department telephone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
    13. Accommodate all guest requests expediently and courteously. Follow up with designated hotel personnel to ensure completion of request.
    14. Coordinate guest requests with designated vendors.
    15. . Legibly document all pertinent information in guest request log(s). Monitor and update log book(s) throughout the shift.
    16. Place orders for amenities and coordinate delivery of amenities to designated guest rooms.
    17. Legibly complete confirmation cards and deliver to guest upon completion of each arrangement coordinated for guest.
    18. Relay accurate directions to guests' desired destination within local area and distribute maps with highlighted routes.
    19. . Escort VIPs upon arrival to their assigned room. Inform guests of hotel services/features and room amenities.
    20. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
    21. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
    22. Transport guest luggage from the point of arrival at the hotel to their assigned room.
    23. Transport guest luggage from current room to reassigned room for room changes.
    24. Transport guest luggage from their room to the point of departure from the hotel.
    25. Assist guests in locating and retrieving lost luggage. Correctly tag, store and retrieve luggage from holding room.
    26. Identify and explain hotel facilities and features to guests while escorting them to their room.
    27. Identify fire exit closest to guest's room and explain safety features of assigned room.
    28. Demonstrate use of room key to guests.
    29. Place guest luggage inside room.
    30. Identify and explain guest room features for guests.
    31. Explain laundry service.
    32. Maintain accurate knowledge of scheduled functions within the hotel to direct guests to correct locations.
    33. Relay accurate directions to guests on inquiries of transportation within the local area.
    34. Answer Bell Stand telephone within 3 rings using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
    35. Remain in assigned post position, maintaining correct stance.
    36. Deliver items to guest rooms promptly.
    37. Monitor and maintain appearance of lobby areas and luggage holding room.
    38. Polish brass luggage carts and maintain cleanliness of carts.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Must be a service minded individual with a positive attitude who truly enjoys helping others.
    • Must be quick on their feet and adept at handling stressful situations seamlessly.
    • Background in the service industry preferred.
    • Clean driving record
